This Privacy Policy explains how Mango Financial Group ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use RateSearch (ratesearch.com.au) and our broking services. We are committed to handling your information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. Who we are
RateSearch is owned and operated by Mango Financial Group, an authorised credit representative (CRN 530027) of Finsure Finance and Insurance Pty Ltd, holder of Australian Credit Licence 384704. When you submit information through RateSearch, that information is collected and held by Mango Financial Group, and may be shared with Finsure and other parties as described below.
2. What information we collect
We collect personal and financial information that you provide directly to us through the RateSearch form and through any subsequent contact with our brokers. This may include:
- Your name, email address, and (optionally) mobile number
- Information about your home loan — current loan balance, property value, interest rate, lender, loan purpose (owner-occupied or investment), repayment type, term remaining, and offset details
- Your refinancing intent, goals, and timeframe
- Marketing preferences (whether you have opted in to receive rate updates)
- Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device, and the page from which you submitted the form
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 years of age.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Generate the analysis, lender comparisons, and verdict shown to you on RateSearch
- Email you the report you requested and a confirmation of your submission
- Have a Mango Financial Group credit specialist contact you about your home loan options where you have requested it
- Provide you with credit assistance and broking services if you choose to engage us
- Send you ongoing rate updates and educational content where you have opted in to receive these
- Improve the accuracy of our analysis, our service, and the website itself
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 and related laws
4. Who we share your information with
We treat your information confidentially and only share it where necessary to provide our services or where required by law. The categories of recipients include:
- Finsure Finance and Insurance Pty Ltd, our licence holder, and its associated entities (including MA Financial Group Limited), for compliance, audit, and supervision purposes
- Lenders on our panel, where you have asked us to obtain credit assistance and we submit a credit application or pre-assessment on your behalf
- HubSpot, our customer relationship management (CRM) provider, which stores contact and lead information on our behalf
- Email and hosting providers who power the technology behind RateSearch
- Professional advisers such as accountants, solicitors, and consultants where relevant to your matter
- Industry bodies, regulators, courts, or tribunals in connection with any complaint or dispute, or where required by law
- Identity verification providers, where you proceed to a credit application and identity checks are required
Some of these recipients may be located overseas, including in the United States (in the case of HubSpot) and the Philippines (in the case of certain back-office service providers used by Finsure). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
5. We do not sell your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
6. Marketing communications
If you opt in to receive rate updates or other marketing communications, we will use your contact details to send you relevant information. You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by emailing hello@mangofinancialgroup.com.au.
7. How we store and protect your information
Your information is stored on secured servers operated by us and our service providers. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure — including transport encryption (HTTPS), access controls on our systems, and restricting which staff can access lead data. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply commercially reasonable measures to keep your information safe.
8. How long we keep your information
We retain your information for as long as you are a customer of Mango Financial Group, and afterwards for as long as we are required to by law (including by the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 and related anti-money-laundering laws), or for as long as is reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes such as audit, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
9. Cookies and analytics
RateSearch may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your form progress, understand how the site is used, and improve our service. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not function as intended if you do.
10. Your rights — accessing and correcting your information
You have the right to ask us:
- What personal information we hold about you
- To correct any information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or misleading
- To delete your information, where we are not required by law to keep it
To make a request, email hello@mangofinancialgroup.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe (usually within 30 days) and there is no charge for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable fee where significant work is required to fulfil it.

If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@mangofinancialgroup.com.au. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 business days and resolve them as quickly as possible.
